Fact or fiction

You have seen the gorgeous witches on Charmed, Sabrina, Buffy and other TV shows, perhaps Harry Potter flying and walking through walls, plus a range of other instant magic.

You will of course realize that this is fiction, and like all other TV dramas things happen fast, spectacularly and on time according to the script.

So where is the line between the magic we can do and the fiction

Most magic takes time to work, often hours, days, weeks or even months, although the effects may be apparent from very soon after it is worked.

You are not going to physically fly, without some type of support, although you may if you wish learn to have out of body experiences and use your mind to fly, see and experience things as if you were flying and explore distant seeing.

You are not going to walk through walls, or walk on water, some witches can walk on water buts its just a conjuring trick.

We will explain herbal cures to you, but not suggest you actually try them on anyone. We will however explain how to make the homeopathic equivalent and how this can be used. We will cover many forms of what is referred to as complimentary medicine, but we think of as craft skills, but most we will not cover in enough detail for you to practice them, however we will tell you how to go about finding out more should you wish. In a coven different witches have different specialties, so that you can all help each other, so while every witch should know what is available they don't actually need to know the detail of all of it. This is similar to your GP, he may know a patient needs a heart operation, but sends them to someone else to have it done.

We will cover spells, explaining how and why they work, different types, means of spell delivery. We will give you the detail to start, but later we will be looking at how you design and write your own spells.

Book of Shadows

A book of shadows is like a diary and journal, you record what you learn, your experiments, collect spells, and wisdom. In most witchcraft traditions each witch creates their own and its burnt when the witch dies.

You are going to be able to print out from this web site pages that you will be able to put into a ring binder to build your own book of shadows and we will explain how to do this.

Real magic

Some of you who have bought a few books or been on some Wicca sites, may have accepted theoretical magic, similar to that said to happen following a  Christian prayer.

We will include demonstrations within the course where you can demonstrate to yourself the power that we are using, it will be real, under your control and often we will explain why it happens.

We are therefore going to be exploring together real magic, and real witchcraft, but not anything that should frighten you, or be outside your complete control. However from the very beginning you should separate in your mind fact from fiction.
